Lanae is the founder and CEO of L. Norwood & Associates, a boutique movement-building firm rooted in the communities it serves, culture, and its liberatory values. Lanae is polymathic and a respected community organizer, strategist, trainer, facilitator, speaker, creator, and ideator with over 18 years of combined professional experience in movement building, communications, marketing, and organizational leadership development. She has deep connections to Black, Latine/o/x, Hispanic, Chicano, Indigenous, AAPI, and other people of color communities throughout the US. Lanae’s lived experience as a community organizer and a system-impacted youth informs her movement-building work and drives her passion for liberating and empowering oppressed communities.
Marjorie is a Certified Public Accountant focusing on tax and small business accounting. She was born and raised in San Diego and attended San Diego State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She recently completed her Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
Before working in public accounting, Marjorie worked in private industry holding various positions such as Controller, Business Office Manager, Accounts Receivable Manager, and Full Charge Bookkeeper. She has a vast knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting skills in various industries including health care, manufacturing, retail, and professional services. Her current focus areas are Estate and Gift taxation, taxation of individuals, and taxation of business entities.
Marjorie is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Marjorie currently serves as the Chair of the Estate Planning Committee for the Inland Empire Chapter of CalCPA, Treasurer of the Estate Planning Council of San Bernardino County; she is on the board of Agape Christian Development in San Diego, the Scholarship Committee for Embassy Church International and Treasurer for the Embassy Church International Golf Committee. She is also a founding member and Secretary for the Alliance of Black Women Accountants and previously served as Treasurer for Hospice of the Valleys in Murrieta, CA.

Katie Vaughn has over 15+ years of human resources, operational, finance, and administration experience. Specializing in organizations that promote social justice and uplift marginalized communities, Katie works to bridge the gap between operational needs and employee wants. In 2022, Katie will be graduating from Capella University with a Doctorate of Business Administration specializing in human resources. Along with her husband, daughter, two crazy dogs, three lazy cats, and a bunch of farm animals, Katie lives in Athens, Ohio, enjoys spending time in the woods, going on vacation, taking long walks on the beach, reading, and spending time with her family.
Jasmine Bright has been a digital communicator and organizer for over seven years for national and international organizations and campaigns. Before pivoting to her role as Digital Project Manager, she served as the Digital Campaign Manager for the My Black Counts campaign, which focused on maximizing hard-to-count Black communities to participate in the 2020 census and redistricting process. She is passionate about providing the best strategic guidance and client experience to enable organizations to amplify the voices of the underheard and underrepresented. Jasmine received her B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from Rice University. In her spare time, she enjoys herbalism and other holistic healing practices.
Monika Moses was born and raised in Southern California. As the Visual Storyteller for L. Norwood & Associates. she designs for various mediums, including but not limited to print, web design, presentation, branding, social media post, etc.
Monika acquired her bachelor’s degree from the Art Institute and has been a graphic designer for over 8 years.
Having a heart for the community, notably BIPOC and lower-income communities, Monika at her leisure uses her graphic design knowledge and skill to collaborate with non-profit organizations that lack the resources to elevate their brands.
Jourdan Scott is a self taught creative director, whose passion is bringing people’s ideas to life. As a self taught creative director he has played every role in the film industry from; director, director of photography, audio tech, producer, and writer. His passion for telling stories people have often overlooked or haven’t seen the value in capturing drives his hard working creative mind. A fun fact, in his free time he loves to gather with family and friends to bowl and play pool.
Waqar is an expert at using online advertising mediums to generate supporters and help our clients base-build and achieve their online objectives through digital channels. He has over 11 years of experience developing and managing digital marketing campaigns across a wide variety of industries. Waqar is a proud father of two and loves to play chess and video games in his free time.
Purva began her career as a front-end developer after earning a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering around six years ago. However, being a people person, she decided to try account management a few years later and has never looked back ever since.
Joining as a Client Account Manager, Purva packs a varied work experience that spans front-end development, team leadership, and client services. Her hard work and dedication continue to earn her praise from clients and colleagues alike.
She demonstrates excellence in the customer relationship, post-sales, service delivery, and people management. She believes that clients should see our services as an extension of their team, and we should leave no stone unturned to help our clients reach their goals.
In her spare time, you can see her painting, listen to music, and Netflixing when she isn’t endlessly scrolling her Instagram feed. She is also a pet person, who wants to adopt a dog, or maybe let a cat adopt her. A girl can dream, can’t she?
Priyal has over five years of experience. Over the years, she became an expert in creating engaging WordPress websites, including themes, plug-ins & implementation, site optimization.
As WordPress Project Lead, she handles all tasks related to WordPress, demonstrating her leadership and project management skills. She takes care of blockers and other quick tasks on any web platform. Apart from that, she provides technical support to clients.
She strongly believes in hard work, passion, versatility, and integrity. She lives by the mantra, “Decide. Commit. Succeed.”
